How to watch 2026 Men’s Six Nations: UK TV, fixtures & more

Another close tournament should be expected…

After a thrillingly close 2025 men’s Six Nations, the 2026 edition is set to be even more enthralling, with it being a close call between the defending champions and last year’s runners-up.

With the first match ready to kickoff tonight, find out how to watch the 2026 Six Nations on UK TV, plus more information you’ll want to know.

How to watch 2026 Six Nations

The Six Nations has been on free-to-air TV in the UK for some time, although whether that will remain the case in the long-term is still yet to be seen.

Thankfully, nothing will be changing this year as all 15 games of the competition will be shown live, with coverage shared between BBC and ITV.

However, those with Premier Sports can get some use out of their subscription, with five games also being shown on the platform.

2026 Six Nations on BBC

The BBC will be the host of Scotland’s and Wales’ home fixtures, meaning they will have five games in total.

Each game will be live to watch on BBC One on TV, or you can tune in via the BBC iPlayer, which can be accessed online or via the app on various devices.

In addition to the live games, you can also catch-up on the weekend of action in case you missed anything with the Six Nations Rugby Special hosted by legend Ugo Monye, providing highlights and in-depth analysis of each game from the round.

You can also keep up with the action with any game on ITV via BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds.

2026 Six Nations on ITV

ITV will have the home fixtures for England, Ireland, France and Italy, with the remaining 10 fixtures set to be shown on ITV, with each game available live on the ITV1 channel, plus on their streaming platform ITVX.

2025 Six Nations: How it went

France won the 2025 Men’s Six Nations, scoring a record-breaking 30 tries and lifting the title with four wins from five games.

For the first time since their 2020 campaign victory, England also impressed, finishing strongly with four victories, including a dramatic 26-25 win over France to prevent them from claiming their fifth Grand Slam in the Six Nations era.

Ireland’s bid for a historic three-peat collapsed after a key 42-27 loss to France, leaving them behind both France and England despite securing the Triple Crown.

Scotland and Italy had competitive moments, while Wales endured another tough campaign, having the displeasure of bringing home the Wooden Spoon following a second consecutive winless tournament - they’ve now won only two games since their 2021 glory.

Player of the Tournament: France’s Louis Bielle-Biarrey scored a record eight tries and was central to Les Bleus’ title charge. Other standouts included France’s Antoine Dupont (a key figure until his ACL injury against Ireland), England captain Maro Itoje and teammate Tommy Freeman, Ireland’s Dan Sheehan, and France’s top points scorer Thomas Ramos.

Six Nations: Winners

France are the defending champions and are favourites for the crown, although don’t be surprised if a champion isn’t crowned until the final whistle of the last game.

As well as the tournament victory and Grand Slam accolade, there are trophies awarded for some of the individual matches, plus the Triple Crown.

Grand Slam

Achieved when the winning side takes victory in all five of their matches. France fell two points short of achieving this feat when they lost to England last time out.

Triple Crown

Contested by the home nations - England, Ireland, Wales and Scotland. Awarded to the team who defeats all three other teams in one championship.

Ireland claimed this feat in 2025 but set an unwanted record in the process; having the worst result for the Triple Crown winner in history, with previous winners having gone on to either win the championship or finish runners-up.

Calcutta Cup

Contested between England and Scotland and is the only individual award that is as old as the competition itself. England finally claimed victory again in 2025 after four-straight Scotland wins.

Millennium Trophy

Contested between England and Ireland, introduced in 1989. Ireland made in four wins in five years in 2025.

Centenary Quaich

Contested between Ireland and Scotland, introduced in 1989. Ireland retained in 2025 for the eighth consecutive year.

Guiseppe Garibaldi Trophy

Contested between France and Italy, introduced in 2007. France remain dominant over Italy, winning once again in 2025, leaving Italy with still only two wins since the trophies inception.

Auld Alliance Trophy

Contested between France and Scotland, introduced in 2018. France retained in 2025 for the fourth consecutive year.

Doddie Weir Cup

Contested between Wales and Scotland, introduced in 2019. Scotland retained in 2025 for the third consecutive year.

Cuttitta Cup

Contested between Scotland and Italy, introduced in 2022. Scotland claimed back the cup in 2025 after Italy’s sole win the year prior.

Wooden Spoon

Awarded to the team who finishes bottom of the table. Most recently awarded to Wales, who were whitewashed (no wins in entire tournament) for the second consecutive year.
