NBA in the UK: How to watch every game live on TV and online

Get ready for slam dunks, buzzer-beaters and late-night tip-offs.

Basketball fever is rising on both sides of the Atlantic as the new NBA season approaches, and us UK fans don’t have to miss a single moment of the action.

As always, there's many storylines that will unfold as the year goes on. Could this be LeBron's final year? Will Cooper Flagg live up to the hype? There's lots to find out this coming season.

Find out how to watch the NBA in the UK - including live TV coverage and streaming options - so you don't miss a moment of the action.

How to watch the NBA in the UK

For the 2025/26 season, coverage of the NBA in the UK has once again moved back over to Sky Sports after spending two years on TNT Sports.

In recent years, it has been confusing to keep up with which broadcaster has the rights for the season. But that confusion can be put to rest as Sky Sports announced a new 11 year deal for NBA and WNBA coverage starting from this season.

However, it isn't just Sky Sports who will be showing games this year, as Prime Video has picked up a number of games to add to their growing live sport catalogue.

Alternatively, the best way to gain access to every game live in the UK is via the NBA League Pass, which now can be purchased through or linked to a Prime Video account.

NBA on Sky Sports

Sky Sports is once again the home of NBA basketball, and this year you can expect over 100 games to be shown live, plus all the action from the WNBA (whenever it does get going again next year).

Details of what’s included in those 100+ games are scarce as of now. Sky will have the rights to Conference Finals series this year; however, it is unknown as of yet how much more of the playoffs they will be hosting. We will be sure to update this article as soon as we find out more information.

Outside of live games, though, they don’t seem to have any plans for more coverage like they have with many of their other sports.

If you’re not already with Sky, you can get signed up by choosing a pre-made Sky Sports package deal or by calling our friendly Sky team on 0330 165 6733.

If you are already with Sky but don’t have Sky Sports part of your existing Sky TV package, you can add it on. You can choose between a 31-day rolling contract or an 18-month contract.

New for the 2025/26 season is coverage of several games live on Prime Video.

Their coverage will feature 86 regular-season games plus the Emirates NBA Cup Championship game and exclusive coverage of the NBA Berlin and London games on 15th and 18th January.

They’ll also have exclusive streaming rights to the SoFi Play-In tournament (mini tournament to determine the final teams added to the Playoffs), one third of the first and second round games of the Playoffs, and the other Conference Finals series.

But the creme de la creme of Prime Videos first year as an NBA broadcaster is that they will have the exclusive streaming rights to the NBA Finals.

All of Prime Video’s NBA coverage will be included in the Prime membership, so if you already have Prime then you have access to their full NBA slate. For those looking to get Prime, a membership costs £8.99 a month or £95 a year. You can also benefit from a seven day free trial.

You can unlock even more of the NBA, though, via the League Pass, which is also available through Prime Video.

What is NBA League Pass?

The NBA League Pass provides you with another way to view every game during the season. It includes:

  • Live and on-demand games
  • No blackout restrictions
  • Multiple condensed game formats to make viewing key moments easier
  • Customisable broadcasts, angles and advanced stats
  • Full game archives dating back to the 2012/13 season

You can choose between the standard League Pass and League Pass Premium, with the latter unlocking more benefits such as no commercials (in-arena streams during ad breaks), offline viewing and downloads, and concurrent streams on up to three devices as opposed to just one on the standard League Pass.

You can choose to pay either monthly or an all-in-one sum for the season, which will save you over 40%. The costs are:

  • League Pass: £114.99 upfront for the season, £16.99 monthly
  • League Pass Premium: £149.99 upfront for the season, £22.99 monthly

There are also options for a Team Pass, which for £14.99 a month or £99.99 for the season, you can gain access to one specific team’s games for the year.

You can also purchase a League Pass Commercial Plan for business establishments, which allows streams on 10+ devices. And finally, students can benefit from 40% every month through UNiDAYS.

NBA League Pass is available online, on mobile, consoles (Xbox and PlayStation) and connected devices, e.g. Amazon Fire TV via the NBA app, on the NBA website or on Prime Video.

Note: Some restrictions do apply in certain countries but it is fully available in the UK.

NBA League Pass on Prime Video

League Pass will be available through Prime Video, meaning you can access all the games via their platform rather than on the NBA app or website.

This can make it much easier if you already have other subscriptions on your Prime account, especially other sports channels.

You can sign up for your League Pass account either through the NBA website or through Prime Video. Choosing the latter will automatically link your NBA League Pass to Prime Video, while if you choose to do it through the NBA website you’ll have to link it yourself (though that isn’t required, just an option should you want to watch via Prime Video).

Where the League Pass is available on Prime Video, it gets a little bit confusing as to which games are available to all Prime Video customers and which are for League Pass.

The key is to look out in the bottom right-hand corner of the thumbnail in each game. If it’s available on Prime Video, it will have the Prime logo. If it’s a League Pass fixture, it will have that logo on it instead.
